Meet the Founder

Hi, I'm Sinéad, founder of LilyMoon.
LilyMoon was born from my own personal journey.
Up until last year, I was almost 50 pounds heavier, and like so many women, my body changed, and I struggled to find sleepwear that made me feel comfortable yet confident and beautiful.
I found myself searching for sleepwear that embraced my body. Everything I found felt more fitted, and if I wanted that relaxed, oversized look, I had to buy several sizes up, but the fit was never quite right. I wanted sleepwear that was intentionally designed to be oversized, allowing women to wear it loose for comfort or cinched at the waist for a little more shape, depending on how they felt that day.

As if navigating my changing body wasn't enough, I was also experiencing hot flushes.
My own experiences are the reason bamboo is at the heart of most of LilyMoon's collections. I wanted fabrics that didn't just feel luxurious, but that worked with my body, not against it. Bamboo's naturally breathable and temperature-regulating qualities were exactly what I had been searching for during those restless nights. My hopes that every woman who slips into a LilyMoon bamboo set feels the same comfort, confidence and care that inspired me to create them.

As LilyMoon has grown, so have I. While my body has changed, the biggest transformation has been learning to love it through every season of life. My confidence no longer comes from a number on the scales; it comes from feeling comfortable in my own skin.
That journey inspired the Cloud Collection. I wanted it to feel like a second skin, a reflection of the skin I've learned to love over time. Soft, weightless and comfortable, it's a collection created to remind women that confidence isn't about fitting into a certain size; it's about feeling at home in the body you're in.
Whether you choose one of our oversized sets or slip into something more fitted, my hope is the same: that every piece helps you feel comfortable, confident and beautiful.

The Story Behind the Name

The name Lily carries generations of meaning  “Lily” runs through my family: it is my own second name, Sinéad Lily, my grandmother’s name, my mother’s name in meaning, and my daughter’s middle name  The lily represents continuity, a thread that ties women together across time  Beyond its place in our family, the lily flower itself has long symbolised femininity, nurture, beauty, and strength, qualities that inspire the heart of our brand. Women are naturally nurturing to others, but at LilyMoon, we believe it’s time we nurtured ourselves, too.

The Moon reflects more than just night-time and rest  It has long been a symbol of femininity, renewal, and serenity  Just as the Moon lights the darkness, LilyMoon is designed to shine a light on the strength, elegance, and confidence within every woman, a reminder to pause, find calm, and honour yourself, because every woman deserves comfort, confidence, and the luxury of feeling at home in herself.
